Ali Unisen was born in Adiyaman in 1968. He had B. A. in ELT, M. A. and Ph. D. in curriculum and instruction. He worked in state schools as an English teacher between 1991-2000 and as an English instructor at Adiyaman University between 2000-2013. He became an assistant professor and associate professor of curriculum and instruction in 2013 and 2017 respectively. Currently, he has been staffed in the department of educational sciences of the university and as the acting director of the school of foreign languages.

His research interests include teacher training, curriculum and instruction, history of education, and foreign language teaching.

He is married with three children.
