Rezzan Alagöz recieved her Bachelor's degree from Istanbul University Sociology Department in 2007 and her Master's degree from City University of Newyork in 2012. She recived her PhD from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, with her thesis titled "The impact of borders on the construction of otherness: the Armenian-Turkish border." Rezzan is currently a researcher at the Department of Sociology in Adiyaman University, Turkey. Her research areas of intrest include identity, borders, boundries, immigration and refugees.
