Aysel ALKAN UÇKUN was born in Malatya. She received his undergraduate degree from İnönü University Faculty of Science and Literature Department of Biology in 2003, her master's degree from İnönü University Hydrobiology Department in 2005 and her PhD in Hydrobiology Department of İnönü University in 2011. The title of her master's thesis was "Investigation of Antioxidant Enzyme Activities in Trout Exposed to Some Heavy Metals and Selenium Compounds" and the thesis was supervised by Prof Dr İbrahim ÖRÜN. The title of her doctorate thesis she completed is "The Effects of Cage Fishing in Karakaya Dam Lake on Water Quality and Biological Parameters of Some Fish Populations" and Prof Dr Didem GÖKÇE was the advisor of the thesis. She has been working as an Assistant Professor at Adıyaman University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Environmental Engineering since July 2012. Between September 2012 and June 2019, she worked as assistant manager at Adıyaman University Central Research Laboratory. In her academic studies, her areas of interest have generally been Environmental micropollutants, Aquatic toxicology, Biochemical markers, and Advanced biological treatment of waters with gene technology.
