Çiğdem Sabbağ received her master's degree in 2003 and her doctorate in 2009 in the field of Nutrition Sciences at Ankara University. She started Adıyaman University in 2010 as an assistant professor. She received the title of associate professor in 2015. She was appointed as a professor at Adıyaman University Tourism Faculty Tourism Management Department in 2021. She is currently working as a academic staff at Adıyaman University Tourism Faculty. Her research interests include nutrition, healthy eating, gastronomy and local food culture.
