He was born in 1986 in Mersin / Tarsus. After completing his primary and secondary education here, he started his higher education in 2005 at Karadeniz Technical University, Department of English Language and Literature. He was accepted as an Erasmus exchange student by Högskolan Dalarna University, Sweden in the academic year of 2008-2009 and focused his studies on English Language Teaching, American and English Literature and comparative literature. He graduated in 2010 after completing his Pedagogical Formation at Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Education. Şimşek, who started his teaching career as an English teacher at Atatürk Primary School in Çamlıyayla district of Mersin in 2010 - 2011 academic year, was accepted as a lecturer at Adıyaman University in the same year and has been working in this institution since 2010.

 

Şimşek was accepted by Çağ University English Language Teaching master's program in 2012 and received his master's degree in “Teaching College Level English Vocabulary Through Drama” in 2015. In addition, he started his doctorate in Adıyaman University Social Work Department in 2014. Şimşek, who continues his academic studies in the fields of "English vocabulary teaching and the problems encountered in English learning", also has been working as journal referee of foreign language in international journals such as Adıyaman University Journal of Science, (JASSS), (JAVSTUDIES), (Asya Studies) and (R & S).
