Mahmut İslamoğlu graduated from Atatürk University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Field Crops in 1991.

He started education at Çukurova University, Institute of Science, Department of Plant Protection in 1999, and  He graduated with thesis of “Investıgatıons on the Effectıveness of the Tachınıd Flıes (Diptera, Tachinidae) on Fecundıty of the Sunn Pest (Eurygaster İntegriceps Put.) (Heteroptera, Scutelleridae) in the Wheat Fıelds of Gazıantep and Kılıs Provınces" in 2003

He completed his doctorate education at Çukurova University, Institute of Science, between 2006 and 2010 to "Determınıng Some Overwınterıng Features of Sunn Pest (Eurygaster İntegriceps Put.)  He was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Uşak University, Sivaslı Vocational School in 2012-2013.

In 2013, he started to work in the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, Department of Plant Protection, Entomology at the same university.

Mahmut İslamoğlu, who was awarded the title of "Associate Professor" in the field of Plant Protection by UEK on 25.09.2018, held administrative positions such as Head of Department, Head of Department and Vice Dean.

He is still working as an "lecturer" in Adıyaman University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Plant Protection.
