Malik Atış was born in Adana. He completed his primary and secondary education in Adana. He graduated from Çukurova University, Faculty of Education, English Language Teaching program in 1988.

          In September 1988, he started to work as a paid instructor in the English preparatory program of Graduate Students at Çukurova University Institute of Science.

          After completing his military service as a translator-interpreter at the Air Logistics Command, he worked as a lecturer in Çukurova University Foreign Languages ​​Education and Research Center until September 1994. While working at Çukurova University, he participated in a two-year program jointly conducted by Cambridge and Çukurova Universities and received "Certificate for Overseas Teachers of English" from Cambridge University. In 1993, he passed the exams and completed the courses of the Ministry of Tourism and became a National Tourist Guide.

          He was appointed as a research assistant to the Department of English Language and Literature at Mersin University Faculty of Arts and Sciences on 25.08.1994. In 1994-95 academic year, he started the graduate program of Mersin University Institute of Social Sciences. In the newly established department, which did not have sufficient teaching staff, he took part in the teaching of courses as well as his graduate education, and gave lectures such as British History and Geography, American Art History, Translation, Media and Culture. In 1995-96, he attended the courses on English Culture organized by the British Council Ankara Representation in Ankara and after passing the exams, received the "Postgraduate Certificate in British Cultural Studies" from Warwick University. In 1996, he was invited to the University of Warwick on a scholarship to participate in the studies organized by the British Council at the University of Warwick.

          In April 1997, he completed his thesis titled “The Ideological Change of the British Labor Party Within the Context of the New World Order” and became a science expert. He resigned from Mersin University on 16. 02. 1999 due to family reasons.

          Between 2004-2006, he worked as the Founding Manager of Private Dil Teknik Course. From 27.12.2006 to 18.12.2007, he was the manager of Private Güney Dilko Foreign Language Course.

          He was appointed as a lecturer at Adıyaman University on 18.12.2007. He started his doctorate program (joint program with Cumhuriyet University) in Adıyaman University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Social Work in 2014 and graduated in 2019. He is currently working as a lecturer doctor at Adıyaman University Besni Vocational School and also lecturing at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Social Work.
