He was born in Adıyaman in 1986. He completed his primary and secondary education in Adıyaman. He graduated from Gaziantep University, Muallim Rıfat Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish Language Teaching in 2009. He started teaching at the Ministry of National Education in the same year. He worked as a Turkish teacher in Mardin, Şanlıurfa and Adıyaman provinces between 2009-2015. He has been working at Adıyaman University since 2015.

He completed his master's degree at Adıyaman University in 2014 and his doctorate at İnönü University in 2019. He has studies in the fields of teaching Turkish as a foreign language, children's literature, and Turkish education. He is on the editorial boards of various journals scanned in the Tr Index and Eric field index. Erol, who served as the assistant manager of Tömer and the assistant manager of the graduate education institute, is currently serving as the assistant dean of the faculty of education. He works as a consultant, researcher and executive in TUBITAK, EU, Erasmus and Ministry (MEB) projects.
