Asst. Prof. Dr. Mehriban Emek was born on April 15, 1975 in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan.

She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Secondary School No 246 in Baku. In 1992 she won the Department of Physics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Cukurova University within the framework of the Great Student Project signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey. Afterwards she came to Turkey for a college education. She received Turkish Education at Ankara University Turkish Teaching Center (TOMER) in Konya in 1992-1993 Academic Year and English Education at Çukurova University Foreign Languages ​​Education Center (YADEM) in 1993-1994 Academic Year. Between 1994-1998, she completed her undergraduate education at Çukurova University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Physics Department. She completed her master's degree between 1998-2001 and her doctorate education between 2001-2007 at the Department of Physics, Institute of Science at Çukurova University.

Since 2008, she has been working at Adıyaman University Golbasi Vocational School as Asst. Prof. Dr. 

She is married to Dr. Mustafa Latif Emek and has two children.
